Sebastian Greenway joins Best Hooper 2023

Best Hooper

Best Hooper is excited to announce that Sebastian Greenway, Victoria’s leading compulsory acquisition and compensation lawyer, will be joining the team in 2023

Best Hooper has a rich history as being the longest practicing law firm with expertise in compulsory acquisitions and compensation. It is now entering its new chapter in combining synergies with Sebastian Greenway, the most recognised and leading law partner in the industry for claimants.

Sebastian had built a successful practice through representing land owners, businesses and developers when impacted by public infrastructure projects. He has an extensive practice and is highly sought after in the industry.

The synergies of Best Hooper and Sebastian’s practice means that they will together be Victoria’s leading practice for compulsory acquisitions and compensation, together with having one of the largest teams to provide dedicated and tailored service to their clients.

Joel Snyder, Managing Principal at Best Hooper says that “he is truly excited for the opportunities this brings to be able to ensure that claimants can receive the best representation through experience, legal know-how and reputation”. When asked to comment on Sebastian’s existing practice, Snyder was quick to say that “Sebastian is an absolute superstar” and the “synergies will certainly and undoubtedly put our practices in the box seat to continue leading the industry together”.

Best Hooper is one of Victoria’s most historic law firms, being established in 1886. Over this time, it has prided itself on being an “industry secret” and having leading lawyers in property, planning and land development. It is continually recognised, year on year, as an eminent planning and land development firm. Over the years, it has acted for some on Victoria’s most prominent land owners and developers.

Best Hooper has many years of extensive knowledge and expertise in acting for land owners and other persons affected by compulsory acquisitions. Our rich history of practice in this area, which extends over a century in land use law, means that our clients can expect us to achieve excellent outcomes for their case. The firm does not traditionally act for public authorities so that it will not be conflicted.

Sebastian is expected to commence at Best Hooper in July 2023.
